FORCEFUL IMMUNIZATION OF STUDENT IN RIVERS STATE
In a country where the military has been known for launching different operations in different parts of the county such as Operation Python Dance I & II and Crocodile Smile, it's citizens has been gripped with fear that they react at the slightest news they hear that has to do with the military.
The Pandemonium in the city of Port Harcourt today was one of such that was caused by this fear and tension as Parents & Guardians were seen running helter skelter to different schools in the city to pick their wards and children as there were rumours of the Military forcefully immunizing and injecting students in schools.
My Stand
* If the there must be immunization, there should be adequate sensitization by the Ministry of Health through all platforms at their disposal
*Citizens of Nigeria should get the right news and details to avoid running into unnecessary accidents in the case of news like this
*In the history of immunizing children, military has never been part of the exercise and should not be part of it except medical practitioners.
*The government should always intervene in cases like this to protect the lives of its citizens which should be one of its obligation.
