Fire in Rivers state

 At least three people have died and property worth millions of naira destroyed following a fire outbreak along the Omerelu-Owerri Road in Ikwerre LGA.

Eyewitnesses say it followed an accident involving a bus and a truck close to a police checkpoint in the area. They said the IGP Monitoring Team shot at one of the tyres of the bus conveying illegally refined petroleum products from Port Harcourt to Imo State. 

Our correspondent who visited the scene of the incident reports that two burnt corpses were still at the scene at the time of filing this report. The third victim is said to have died at a hospital
